Priorities, we all have them. Whether it's finishing a big project at work, or finding the time to exercise, we all have things that we want to accomplish. However, it's important to understand the difference between having multiple priorities and having a clear priority. In this blog post, we'll delve into the importance of focusing on one priority at a time, and how it can help you achieve your goals more effectively.


First, let's define priority. A priority is something that is considered more important or urgent than other things. It's the one thing that you should focus on above all else, in order to achieve your desired outcome. The word ‘priority’ first entered our vocabulary in the 1400s and stayed singular for 500 years until we pluralized the word and started talking about priorities. The problem with having multiple priorities is that it can lead to a sense of being overwhelmed, and ultimately, it can hinder your productivity and decision-making.


When we try to juggle too many things at once, we often find ourselves procrastinating and putting things off. This can lead to burnout and a lack of motivation, making it even harder to achieve our goals. Additionally, when we have multiple priorities, it can be difficult to determine which task or goal is the most important, and we may end up wasting time and energy on things that don't truly matter.


On the other hand, having a clear priority can lead to greater efficiency, motivation, and success in achieving our goals. By focusing on one thing at a time, we can give it our full attention and make significant progress. This is true for both individuals and organizations. ONE most important task. ONE thing that will have the greatest impact on your goal. It is important to remember this definition and work in a sequence of: identifying the priority → working to achieve it → then moving on to the next.


Having a clear priority is essential for achieving our goals effectively. It allows us to focus on one thing at a time and make significant progress. By identifying and setting a priority, breaking it down into smaller tasks, and focusing on the most important and urgent tasks first, we can achieve our goals more efficiently.
